Cookie Policy

Small pieces of data a site stores in your browser so it can recognize the same session on the next request.

• A cookie is a short text value your browser sends back to the site on every request — it is how the server knows a request belongs to your session.
• This policy also covers similar technologies with the same effect: localStorage and sessionStorage, which stay on the device instead of travelling with each request.
• Cookies set by us are first-party. We do not run advertising networks or third-party tracking cookies on M9.
• Some cookies expire when you close the browser; others last months, and each one is listed below with its purpose.

Without cookies the platform cannot keep you signed in, cannot protect your account, and forgets everything between pages.

• They keep your session: without them, every page load would sign you out and every purchase would restart.
• They protect you: the session and device identifiers are what let us detect account theft, ban evasion and suspicious sign-ins.
• They keep the interface yours: language, currency, theme and dashboard layout survive a reload instead of resetting.
• They tell us what to fix: aggregate, anonymous view counts show which listings and pages are useful and which are broken.

These exist for the platform to function. There is no toggle for them because turning them off would mean turning off the service itself.

• m9_rt — your session (refresh token). It is httpOnly, so JavaScript cannot read it. Without it you cannot stay signed in.
• m9_did — device identifier used to spot suspicious sign-ins and ban evasion. It carries no personal data.
• m9_locale — the language you chose, so the site does not fall back to English on every visit.
• m9_currency — the display currency derived from your region, so prices are shown in a currency you recognize.
• m9_consent — the record of this very choice, kept for 180 days so we do not ask you again on every page.
• We also use sessionStorage for short-lived state that dies when the tab closes, such as a dismissed notice.

Everything the interface remembers about how you like to use it. Say no and the site still works; it just starts fresh every time.

• Theme (light or dark), recent searches and recently used emojis.
• Dashboard state: current mode (buyer, seller, team), last view, notification filters and panel layout.
• Chat preferences: sound, desktop notifications, enter-to-send and message preview.
• None of it authorizes anything. Roles, permissions and balances always come from the authenticated API, never from what is stored on your device.

One anonymous identifier so the same visitor is not counted twice. It measures interest in listings, nothing about who you are.

• m9_anon_id — a random identifier with no link to your account, e-mail or device, kept for up to one year.
• It is used only to deduplicate behavioural signals (views, searches, clicks) that feed trending and catalog ranking.
• When you are signed in, the ranking uses your account id verified by the backend; the anonymous id is just the fallback for visitors.
• Say no and nothing is queued or sent — no identifier is created, and any existing one is deleted.

We keep the surface small: no ad networks, no social pixels, no data brokers.

• We do not sell or share your browsing data with advertisers.
• Error monitoring (Sentry) receives technical crash reports to keep the site working. It sets no cookies and personal data is not sent with the report.
• Payment providers may set their own cookies on their own checkout pages, governed by their policies — not on M9 pages.

Your decision is not final. Change it from the site at any time, or clear everything from your browser.

• Use “Cookies” in the site footer to reopen the preferences panel and switch any category on or off.
• Turning a category off deletes what it had already stored on this device, and stops new items from being written.
• Your choice applies to this browser on this device. Signing in elsewhere means choosing again there.
• You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — blocking the essential ones will sign you out and break checkout.

If what we store changes, we ask again instead of assuming your old answer still applies.

• Your recorded choice carries a version. When we add or change a category, that version changes and the banner asks you again.
• A new category never starts enabled by inheriting a previous answer.
• Material changes to this policy are announced in the app and, where required, by e-mail before they take effect.
